Hi Lori, My name is Greg DeAngelis. Are you related to the Stefanini's in Altoona, PA? My Great Aunt was Marianna DeAngelis married to Antonio Stefanini. Her brother Luigi DeAngelis was my Great Grandfather. My 2x Great Grandparents were Bernardino DeAngelis & Caterina Antonucci.

Hi! I am not related to the Stefaninis that I know of. They were neighbors and friends of my great-grandparents, Paul and Nora (Hewitt) Grove. Antonio and Marianna's daughters Augusta, Katherine, and Elsie attended Paul and Nora's wedding shower. I am happy to add you to the trusted list and/or turn over Profile Manager if you would like.

Hello. My name is Gary Goodson. I am interested in joing the Davis Name Project. According to WikiTree we are 24 degrees apart. It show that you descended through Israel Jefferson Davis 'ira' second marriage. I my descended from Ira's first marriage. Thanks

My grandmother's maiden name was Davis. My Davis line was in Missouri in the mid-1800s and it appears they came from VA. Of course, I couldn't be lucky enough to have an unusual given name, as there are a LOT of John Davis' to sort through. Hoping to get a clue!

Hi Lori

Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once that has been done, you add any remaining names manually.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Hello, Lori,

While researching, I came across this group. I would like to join. Since my maiden name is Davis, I am very interested in the Davis name/heritage, I have been able to trace all of my maternal lines and the maternal line on my father's side with many links. However, my Davis lineage is a brick wall. My father's family seemed to settle in Cumberland and Buckingham, Virginia. Since the Buckingham County Courthouse burned, I am unable to trace those records there. My research stops with my great grandfather, John D. Davis, who was born in Cumberland in 1805 and died in Buckingham, VA on March 2, 1860. There is a small Davis cemetery in Buckingham. My grandmother and her children moved to Richmond, Virginia, where they are now buried. My aunt traced our lineage and even traveled to the UK many times for research. Unfortunately, most of her notes were lost, except for the pedigree papers (Davis stops with John D Davis). I have been able to trace some other Davis family members and have found cousins. Therefore, I am very interested in this group.

C Davis

PS A wild curious note~ Are you related to a Kameron Masucci? She went to high school in VA, but has ties to FLA (went to college there). She would be in her early 20s now.

Hi! I hadn't been very active with the Davis name project for a while there--my job got a bit hectic during Covid. As far as I know, most of my husband's American Masucci family is in Pennsylvania. I don't know of any in Virginia, but I've had bigger surprises come out of DNA testing!

Hi Lori:

I am the 7th great grandson of Sarah Davis, born 10 December 1648, in Malborough, Middlesex County, Massachusette, Bay, United States, died 1698, in Northborough, Worceater County, Massachusette, United States. She was the daughter of Robert Davis, born about 1608, son of Robert William Davis, born about 1580, in London, Middlesex, England, son of Morris, born about 1557, in London, Middlesex, England. Sarah David was married to John Brigham, born 09 09 March 1648, in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, died 16 September 1728, in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Would you have any information on these Davis clan?

Sorry I didn't get back to you, but I don't have any information on those clans. My mother's father died when she was young, and I actually have very little information about my own Davis ancestors in Pennsylvania.
