Biography

Margaret, daughter of William Loftie & Hester, was baptised on 3 June 1760 in Saint Mary Magdalene, Canterbury, Kent, England.[1]

She was the eldest of five children.

Margaret's marriage licence to Matthias Rutton was dated 28 May 1784.[2]

Margaret married Mathias Rutton on 21 June 1784 in Saint Mary Magdalene, Canterbury, Kent, England.[3]

Margaret died (age 40) in about 1801 in Sheldwich, Kent, England.[4]

She died on 2 Sep 1801 and is buried in a vault beneath the vestry on the north side of the chancel of Sheldwich Church. Beside her, lies her brother, Captain Wm. Hy. Loftie. In the same vault lies her husband, Vicar Rutton".
