Ann Lock was born on 26 Jun 1669. She was the daughter of William Lock and his wife Katherine (maiden name unknown). Her parents' place of residence was written in her birth record and transcribes as something like "Wooke in the Parish of Binstead". Binsted or Binstead is about 4 miles east of the town of Alton. Ann's birth was recorded by the Alton Quaker Meeting.[1][2]
Her father died four years after her birth and was buried on 21 April 1673 in the Quaker burial ground at Alton.[3]
Research Note
Ann Lock was mentioned in her mother's will and also in the will of Robert Streater, her mother's second husband, who left her £20. Robert made the same provision for Ann's brother John Locke.[4][5]
