Biography

Vito lo Cascio is a Corleone native resident, the son of Salvatore and Caterina lo Cascio. His mother's surname is not yet known. I estimate Vito is born around 1637, the same age I estimate his wife to be, based on her son's marriage.

Open Issue: I've looked for a baptismal record for a Vincenzo or Vito Cascio or lo Cascio (or variant) in the indices from 1623-68, and not found him. Cascio-10 20:55, 4 March 2016 (EST)

Vito marries Antonina la Rosa, a widow, on 7 June 1676. His parents have died by this time. The following year, Antonina's son from her first marriage, marries. Based on this, I estimate Antonina and Vito are both born around 1637.

Vito and Antonina have at least three children: Gioachino (c. 1679), Teresa (c. 1682), and Giovanni (c. 1686).

I estimate Gioachino is born around 1679, the same age as I estimate his wife is. Anna Fruija marries for the first time in 1699, and I estimate she is 20 years old at this time.

I estimate Teresa is born around 1682, twenty years before she marries.

I estimate Giovanni is about 20 years old (b. 1686) when he marries for the first time.

Three years after her first marriage, Anna Fruija is widowed and remarries, to Vito's son Gioachino, on 1 February 1699. Vito has died by this time.

Theresa marries Leonardo di Puma on 30 January 1702. Antonina is living at this time.^[1]

Giovanni marries Francesca Terregrossa on 25 July 1706.

Giovanni marries a second time, to Teresa Gennaro, on 28 April 1721. Antonina has died by this time.

Giovanni marries for the third time, to Vincenza Missineo, a widow, on 8 February 1723.

Giovanni marries for the fourth time, to Rosa Pennino, who is also a widow, on 2 May 1733.
