Susannah Lightbourn is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Susannah Gould Lightbourn was born in 1825 in Nassau, Bahamas to Walter Gould Hinson Lightbourn and Mary Frances Outten Meares Lightbourn.

She married John Cornelius McPherson, son of Lt. Thomas McPherson and Elizabeth Woodward Meares McPherson, 28 May 1843 in Nassau. The couple had children - among them Mary Richardson, Emma Olivia, Frederick John, Ernest Walter Taylor, Marian Louise, and Charles Arthur McPherson.

John C McPherson served in the 2nd West India Regiment. He and Susannah lived for a time in Jamaica where their daughter Emma Olivia was born.

Later in her husband's life, he became a schoolmaster.

Susannah Lightbourn McPherson died in Nassau, Bahamas in 1911 at 86 years of age. She is buried with her husband in the Parish of Saint Mary The Virgin Church Cemetery in Nassau.
