Hi Terri!

It looks like we are related through your ancestor Hannah Pierce Martin's parents, George Pierce and Lydia Roberts.

Hannah's brothers, Robert, Thomas, Jesse and David moved to Guilford County, NC, and then moved further west in NC, TN and north into VA.

I am a 66/67 marker match to a descendant of Robert. I am a 36/37 marker match to a descendant of Thomas.

Based on the DNA tests, Census, Tax Lists and Quakers records, Jesse appears to be the father of my previously earliest known ancestor: John Alexander Pierce 1779-1842.

Jonathan Pierce.

Have you located a direct-male line Emery on you Joseph's line? Who would Y-DNA test? There are other descendants of John & Anthony who have tested.

re: links to documents, posted on Josiah Emery: Sorry, I have not stored links in my own family historian database, and time does not permit adding all the links. I think my references/sources provide enough info to locate them. You may be interested in the Descendants book: https://books.google.com/books?id=TVm-4KucUKgC&pg=PA239&lpg=PA239&dq=ruckman+emery+marriage+1854&source=bl&ots=xF8hlcd9xD&sig=Qoxw0tY5sHVR0GPL-jG_ytt5ogU&hl=en&sa=X&ei=PAisUJefNM7ligL64YF4#v=onepage&q=ruckman%20emery%20marriage%201854&f=false

It's likely that your Joseph is a descendant of John - I briefly looked in John's descendants, but didn't spot him there. Possibly Anthony, but Anthony went off to Maine with his family, so less likely. The book is in two sections, with separate indices for each branch

Hi Terri, my Genesis GEDmatch ID is NX684052. I ran comparisons with your Gedmatch ID (& many others on your DNA profile) but none returned commonality. I wish I'd found wikitree before I used LivingDNA for my test. Hopefully their upcoming 'family match' program will work better with 23&me, FamilyTree, etc.

Hi Terri! Here is a quote I have from the grandson of James Huey (1559-1836) , James Grandison Leroi Huey (1813-1889). This quote comes from a personal letter he had written to his cousin George Huey; "The children of the marriage of my grandfather to Jane Walker were Alexander Boyd Huey, my father, Robert Davis, who was your grandfather, John Boyd; James and Thomas Walker, together with Jennie Huey and who married a Mr. David Walkup. "

I have a copy of this letter and copy of the book by Valentine Hains Huey 'Huey Family History' published in 1963 by the then 63 year old Huey. In it, you will find a lot of genealogy of the James Huey branch of Hercules Huey's family.
