MY BIOGRAPHY I started my journey into researching our family tree almost 20 years ago. My mom was placed in foster care at a very young age and was curious to know where her uncles and aunts had settled. I started this search with mom + 2 names, her mother and father. This search led to the search for more family info and I was hooked.
I believed then that once I tracked down some of her family that would be enough. NOT... I love the research, the history, tracking down military records in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and other wars up to this point. Most people think I am crazy for digging through Historical Society's records, library books, census records and through graveyards searching for answers to our family.
I have always believed we are shaped by our ancestors and their belief systems. I honestly believe they have left a blueprint behind of their lives, their likes and dislikes, their religious beliefs, whether they loved the mountains, oceans, nature, animals and rather live in a city versus county. Were they farmers, seamen or people of commerce. Were they writers, artist, musicians, storytellers, homemakers or businessmen (or women)
Through the years this passes down to each of us in some way or another. A good example is my great grandmother "Cassie". Born in 1862 and died in 1954, she was known as stubborn, independent, a very strong woman in spirit, made her opinions known and was not afraid to speak her mind. This was so unheard of in the 1800's especially in her religion of Mennonites. Yet every girl child born in our family; these same traits get stronger and stronger.
My journey continues.

Thanks Ruth "Bobby" Hodges
You have done your DNA and it has populated your ancestors' profiles. You can check your ancestors' profiles which now show your DNA details. Often as you get further back and have shared ancestors with other members yours and the others will show up on those profiles.
Have fun! Laura
Thanks.
I will give you any information you would like that I have! Thank you so much for contacting me (-: !!
