Biography
Louis was born to a Hungarian father with the surname Lazlo.
His father was deported as an alien when his parents' marriage broke down.
Louis' wife persuaded him to add John to his name to appear more English. They moved to New Zealand, where his wife's brothers had been born. During a visit to the UK, with their young daughter, they were stuck because the second world war broke out and ended up having their belongings sent back and remaining in the UK.
