Hi Denise, originally he was connected to the wrong person. That was in May, and has since been corrected. So, it does show up differently now. :)

Hi Denise,

Can you provide the source showing that James Robertson, father of Tennessee, was married to Sarah Bancroft Robertson? He is a Tennessee notable and this marriage is not listed anywhere in his records. Please advise. Thanks!

Actually looking for Caleb Sturtevant. 1759-1837. He was part owner of the first of the Eastern Townships in Quebec, where I was born. Many of my Sturtevant relatives came up from the states. I am wondering if he was the first.

If you know anything about his mother, Hannah Knapp, that could possibly provide a clue. Thanks, Sturtevant-194

One likely candidate's mother is "Hannah Knapp"

Hi! I'm always looking for guest bloggers for our WikiTree blog. If you ever want to give that a go, let me know :)
Loved reading your story " Musical Genes". That is really neat to find the violin among the inventory from the probate !

I'm going to try to get to that burial info on your tree today. Also wanted to let you know that I got some things done with your Ancestry site. I've looked without success for a record of William R's divorce from Phinnette and her remarriage to Hiland Maine. With your help, I found a Civil War record of Hiland that at least closes the gap. Hiland enlisted in 1861, and it says he was married at that point. (The 1860 Census said Phinnette was still with William and Hiland was a hired hand.) My guess is they were married, and then he went into the army. (That was not unusual in WW II, and I expect also in the CW) I also found a date and place of death for Elizabeth A, which is in Western NY, so that totally settles that issue. Thanks again, Denise.

I'm curious now. Did Elizabeth's obit actually say she would be interred in North Adams? Was there anything else worth preserving on her profile page? And Sarah, I have a DOD but don't think I have a marriage partner for her. Was there one in her obit?

Read your "why would a total stranger" post. You're right. I was dealing exclusively with the Elizabeth Saunders listings on FamilyTree.com. I forgot that the Grand Rapids Elizabeth was listed as a Scriven. I would love to get an obituary to seal the deal. I'll look. Again, thanks for your help!

Just when I thought this was all making sense, I looked at the 1850 Census records, and we have one Elizabeth (daughter of Isaac) living in Adams, Jefferson Co, way out near L. Erie, and another Elizabeth A. (with a whole other family listed), living in Grafton, NY, near Petersburg, where William Reginald grew up. Doesn't it seem logical that William's wife is the one literally living next door? (And that would not be Isaac's daughter, but a Nathan G's, maybe a third family? This whole thing is complicated by the fact that, as records you found correctly state, William moved to NORTH Adams with his family; he and Elizabeth are buried there; I found their gravestones. Would Elizabeth's body have been shipped to N. Adams from Grand Rapids AFTER her husband died?
