Chester b. Sep. 23, 1881 Benton, Marshall Co, KY^[1] in Kentucky according to the 1900 census. Chester s/o Joseph M. Lemon (1850 - 1917) and Mary Frances Iglehart (1859 - 1932).^[2]

1900 AR Life

On 01 Jun 1900, Chester's father Joseph (50) was a farmer living in Barker, Crawford Co., Arkansas with Chester's mother Mary F. (40). Chester (18, single) and daughter Tessie (10) were born in Kentucky except for Chester's father (NC). Mary's father was born in Indiana and mother in Kentucky. Joseph rented a farm and all could read and write English. Chester was a farm laborer who was unemployed for 3 months, attended school 3 months while his sister Tessie attended school 3 months.^[3]
