Thank you Victor. You are much appreciated for all your time and research. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. It is a blessing to have you here on Wikitree. It is wonderful that we get to work together at building the family tree and doing it as accurately as possible. The further we go back the more difficult it becomes sifting through the countless records and to be honest our ancestor's were not the best at record keeping at times. So many human errors on paperwork always throws a monkey wrench into the works. That is why it takes all of us to work together at putting the big puzzle together by fitting the pieces in were they belong.

Cindi, When the original profile for the William Mason, who married Isabella (Scott) Mason, was originally created it clearly showed that this William Mason and my William Mason, who married Sarah (McKeachey) Mason, were two different people. Since then, others have altered the profile for the husband of Isabella (Scott) Mason to match the husband of Sarah (McKeachey) Mason and request a merge of duplicates. While examining the changes someone made to parents John and Leah (McKeachey) Mason, I found the husband of Isabella (Scott) Mason's profile was abandoned. So, I adopted it and merged it into my William Mason. My thoughts are now this will allow a researcher to create the correct profile for the husband of Isabella (Scott) Mason.

Hi Victor - I see your comment about the amount of work involved to transpose large GEDs (that have taken, in some cases, decades to build) to WikiTree. I faced that too but plowed ahead anyway, literally one at a time. I have met a handful of cousins (usually fourth cousins!) by running into them doing the same thing. I found that my universe of known ancestors exploded and I have collaborators now. Also, I don't have to worry about maintaining my work after I am gone and I feel like I am part of a team, rather than some private effort. Also, I can download a GED from WikiTree periodically, just in case. I am extremely happy with WikiTree and its goal in making genealogy free forever.

Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Hi Victor It is nice to meet you. I look forward to working on our family with you. I do not know the book but I will see if I can find it somewhere. Jacque Ott did the research the old fashion way on our Caudills, have you seen something you thought might be wrong? I use to have all of Jacques research, I may still but if I do it it is in an old tower I have saved. I looked at your research on your site away from wikitree, do we share an ancestor, Nancy and Stephen? As I am sure you know dna has disproved some of what people use to think. Jenny
