Biography
Sarah (Surry) Chauncey Sparkman died in childbirth, along with her child. They are reputed to be buried in two unmarked graves on the original Sparkman farm in Bradford Co., Florida.
Sarah Sparkman was born on April 16 1769, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to Edward Surry and Winnifred Surry. Sarah married Captain William Simeon Sparkman, Jr. on November 21 1800, at age 31 in Bertie County, North Carolina. They had 10 children: Fenaba Sparkman, Nancy Ann Cannon, Martha Sparkman, Jane Rollins, Lewis William Sparkman, John Lee Sparkman Sr., Wade Hampton Sparkman Sr., Sarah Ann Sparkman, Peter Sparkman and Luke Sparkman. Sarah passed away After 1830, at age 60 in Alachua County, Florida.
