Miss Helen LeRoy came with her father John R. L. LeRoy and family from Indiana to Quincy in 1834, and he was in the general merchant business here, where the Waldin Jewelry store is now located. She was a sister of the late Major Henry Sullivan, founder of The Whig; also a sister of the wife of the late Colonel W. A. Richardson.[1]
