Biography

Little information has been found on Margaret Lawrence, wife of Nathaniel Woodward. Her origins are unknown, but it is estimated that she was born about 1589 in England. She was living on 18 July 1661, when she signed a deed in Boston, Massachusetts, however her date and place of death are also unknown.

The Rushden, Northhamptonshire, parish registers provide a marriage record:[1]

"The xix day of September Nathaniell woodward & Margerett Larence was married the yeare above written [1608]"

Seven children were baptised in Rushden, and an addition four were baptized at nearby Puddington (now Podington), Bedfordshire. Nathaniel and Margaret and their family were in Massachusetts by 1637. [1]

The last land record found for Nathaniel and Margaret is on 18 July 1661, when "Nathaniell Woodward of Boston in New Engld in the County of Suffolke Carpenter and Margaret his wife" sold to John Marion for £100 the remainder of their holdings, land and house and orchards, listed in the Book of Possessions.[1][2][3]

It doesn't seem to be a reliable source. If you click there on her husband Nathaniel Woodward, there are major problems in the listing of his parents (especially the mother listed as being born after him).

I would suggest going back a bit and do more source work on Margaret Jackson, and then work forward. I don't see much to prove she was the daughter of Christopher, or sibling of the Newton-resident Jacksons. She certainly wasn't born in Ipswich Mass in 1604. Also, I don't understand why Ezekiel's merge (Woodward-328 and Woodward-2304) should "be undone." He seems to be well sourced. Was something lost in the merge?

Such merges seem premature at best. Such merges would add Frances Woodward as a child of Margaret Lawrence, and I see no evidence that she had a daughter named Frances.

If Jackson-4246 and Lawrence-58 do not represent the same person then that would also require Woodward-38 and Woodward-1015 to be rejected, but they are currently unmatched merge, further the completed merge of Woodward-328 and Woodward-2304 would need to be undone. I believe merge of Jackson-4246 and Lawrence-58 should proceed given Jackson-4246 is completely unsourced.

Jackson-4246 and Lawrence-58 do not represent the same person because: Not the same. Margaret Lawrence married Nathaniel Woodward in 1608. Margaret Jackson was too young in 1608 and she married a different Nathaniel Woodward who apparently died in New York.
