Just wanted to let you know a location editing detail you may not be aware of. (I'm with the Louisiana Project and check the editing feeds on Thursdays, which is how I saw your edit to Marie Eulalie Cezanne.) WT prefers to use "their conventions, not ours," which includes place names at that date. As there were no civil parishes until after the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, there was no Orleans Parish. With profiles under management of the Louisiana Project, chances are good that the data is correct-- especially if you see that Joyce Rivette was the previous editor. She's a very nice, very smart lady who is also a genealogist and the leader of the Louisiana Project. This is by no means a criticism-- we very much appreciate your work and just want to help you help WT! (Check the Louisiana Project pages for lots of good information!) Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.
If you go to the very, very bottom of my (or any) profile page, you'll see paragraph like this: "Stephanie is 17 degrees from Raymond Lemieux, 19 degrees from Tara Wildes and 19 degrees from Henry VIII of England on our single family tree. Check your connections or find your genealogical relationship with Stephanie."
Just click on that last sentence! If you are connected via WikiTree, it will show you something like this:
"Barbara and Stephanie are 7th cousins once removed
Barbara Lantz and Stephanie Ward are both descendants of Jean Hebert.
1. Barbara is the daughter of Anna Belle (Lanclos) Lantz [unknown confidence]
2. Anna is the daughter of Adlar Lanclos [unknown confidence]
3. Adlar is the son of Lucien Lanclos [unknown confidence]
4. Lucien is the son of Adelar Adelard Lanclos [unknown confidence]
5. Adelar is the son of Josephine Josepha (Landry) Lanclos [unknown confidence]
6. Josephine is the daughter of Marie Modeste Hebert [unknown confidence]
7. Marie is the daughter of Amable Hebert [unknown confidence]
8. Amable is the son of Jean Hebert [unknown confidence]
This makes Jean the sixth great grandfather of Barbara.
1. Stephanie is the daughter of Willa Mae (Hanks) Ward [confident]
2. Willa is the daughter of Ella (Frederick) Hanks [confident]
3. Ella is the daughter of Félicien Frederick [confident]
4. Félicien is the son of Jean Frederick Jr [confident]
5. Jean is the son of Jean Charles Frederick [confident]
6. Jean Charles is the son of Marguerite Bourg [confident]
7. Marguerite is the daughter of Marie-Louise (Trahan) Bourg [unknown confidence]
8. Marie-Louise is the daughter of Madeleine Modeste (Hebert) Hébert [unknown confidence]
9. Madeleine Modeste is the daughter of Jean Hebert [unknown confidence]
This makes Jean the seventh great grandfather of Stephanie."
Pretty cool, isn't it? WT has so much going for it! After 5 years I'm still learning new stuff every day! Let me know if I can help you figure anything out.
Hi! sorry, I may have stepped on your toes with an edit I made to Jean Baptiste David. I didn't realize you'd just made that edit. If you like, I can undo the edit I made. Reason I don't use hypens is that it often leads to a duplicate being created. Our search program doesn't recognize Jean-Baptiste and Jean Baptiste as the same name. Sorry for the inconvenience. Let me know!
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.
You do not need to leave messages on the suggestion description pages when correcting suggestions. You can either 1) just make the correction or 2) make the correction and set the status from your suggestion report. Each week, correct suggestions will be cleared from the report. Here is a help page for how to set the status: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:DBE_Status
Regarding Find A Grave errors--if the memorial is in error, you can always request that the memorial manager correct the mistake. It is an option on the memorial page. You can also set the status for the error on the profile as a false error if your information is correct.
You're welcome! I am not related to those lines. I completed that edit as part of the Data Doctor's Suggestion reports. You can find your individual report by going to your WikiTree ID at the top of the screen and hovering until a dropdown list appears. You will find a link to Suggestions at the bottom of this list.
I have my main tree housed on Ancestry and I am slowly copying over to WikiTree. I checked my Ancestry tree and I don't have an Emery Penny at all. That doesn't necessarily mean there isn't a relation, but just haven't found it yet if there is. My Penny branch came out of Maryland/Delaware and settled in Ohio in the early 1800s. Unfortunately, the trail runs cold before my 4th great grandfather Asa Penny (1758-1816)

Thanks so much for the help - still have so much to learn. I love finding more cousins so how exactly are we related?
