Ann Lansing participated with Flying Dutchmen during the 2018 Source-a-Thon, adding sources to 227 previously unsourced profiles. Team total of 1552

I was born in southern Ontario but moved to the United States in the early 1960's when my father took a position in the States.

I became interested in finding out more about the Lansing side of the family because my father didn't know much about his family, so I joined ancestry. I have been disappointed in the way errors are propagated in the family trees in ancestry because of the copy and paste function. I stumbled upon wikitree perhaps searching for free genealogy sites, and I was impressed with the emphasis on documenting sources. I also looked at the Gerrit Lansing entry because my understanding is that many if not most of the Lansings in the US and Canada may have descended from him, and I was impressed at the discussion of whether or not he actually immigrated to the States or if only some or all of his children came. Because of these two things, I joined wikitree. And I'm very pleased to have been made so welcome!

Hi Ann,

I’ve not heard back from you so presume you don’t want to continue in the Canada Project at this time so have gone ahead and removed your badge. If that changes anytime you would be most welcome to re-join in the future.

Hi Ann! I wasn t much around last week. And I will not be as said during the weekend of SaTh.

Here are some suggestions ;-) :

Get all your shoppings done for the weekend at Thirsday
Warm up your fingers
Put some food and drinks next to your machine
Do not forget your family/real live
Do what you can - that is enough!!
Most of all: Have fun!!

In other words you will be just fine. Remember all are having a real live, we sleep at other times then you, so sometimes replies are delayed, but all willing to help so feel verrrrrrrrrrrrry free to ask if you re not sure. It is the only way to learn fast.

Again thank you so much for joining Team Flying Dutch(wo)men!!

Hugs!

A.

You are most Welcome Ann, you certainly deserve it Ann, thank You for your kind word about my dad and the bird you are most kind
