Originally a lawyer, from New York City, Jennings came to Hollywood in 1938 and set up an office as a talent agent. In 1940 he joined the Jaffe agency and within a few years became the company's president, and came to be known as one of Hollywood's leading agents.
In 1950 he joined the MCA talent agency and two years later became vice president of MCA TV Limited. In the 1970s he produced and executive-produced movies (most famously big "disaster movies"), as well as taking occasional acting roles.
Jennings was born in 1915. He was the son of Russian immigrant Harry Lang and New York native Lillian Saul.

In the 1940 census Jennings (age 24) was the single head of household in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.[4]
On 6 Sep 1940, Jennings married fellow publicist (1) Flora Pam Friedheim.
Jenning (age 28), son of Harry Lang & Lillian Saul, married Flora Pam Friedheim (age 28) on 14 September 1940 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.[5] They had two sons, including jazz pianist/studio musician Mike Lang.
In December 1951, Jennings was shot in the left inner thigh by film producer Walter Wanger, who believed Lang was having an affair with his wife, actress Joan Bennett. Wanger served 4 months in prison (then returned to producing films).[6][7]
Jennings' wife Pam died of a heart attack on 22 Oct 1952.
Jennings (age 40), son of Harry Lang & Lillian Saul, married actress (2) Monica Lewis (age 28) on 1 January 1956 in Los Angeles, California, United States.[8] They had a further son together, Rocky.
Jennings, son of Saul, died (age 81) on 29 May 1996 in Riverside, California, United States.[9][10]
