Namesake
In late 1928, prior to her birth, Annabelle was named by a headstrong 5-year-old Anna Belle Clement[1] (sister of Tennessee Governor Frank Goad Clement), at the little girl's insistence, while she was staying at Kyrock, KY with Mrs. Clorene Lane.
Childhood
Annabelle spent her early years at her father's home in Bee Spring, not far from his general store at Kyrock. Later the family moved to nearby Sweeden, where they built a new store.
