Thomas Batts Lacy was born about 1732 in New Kent, Virginia to Henry Lacy and Angelica Armistead. He passed away in 1774 in Charles City, Virginia.

Will of Thomas Batts Lacy In the name of God amen. I Thomas Batts Lacy of Charles City County , VA being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God the same, and calling to mind the mortality of this life and that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. First of all I do recommend my soul to the hands of the Almighty God who gave me and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner and what worldly estate it have been pleased of God to bless me with, I give and bequeath in manner and form following:
Item: My will and desire is that my whole estate both real and personal be equally divided amongst my four children after my just debts are paid, to wit: Henry , Isaac, Angelica and John.
My will is that if either of my four children die before they come of age or without assigns that there [sic] part or parts be equally divided amongst the surviving children. I do constitute and appoint my friend Henry Southall my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament. Revoking and disanulling all other wills that been heretofore made. Witness my hand and seal this day 2nd Jun 1771. Signed and sealed in the presence of Furnea Southall Pinkman Perry
At court held for Charles City County held the 3rd day of Nov 1773, The aforewritten will and testament of Thomas Batts Lacy , deceased, was presented to the court by Henry Southall. Will was proved signed by John West

Deed of Thomas Batts Lacy and Anthony His Wife: This indenture made this twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine between Thomas Batts Lacy and Anthony his wife of Charles City County, VA of the one part and William Burton, Sr. of the same city , of the other part. Witness that said Thomas Batts Lacy and Anthony his wife for and in consideration of the sum of sixty eight pounds current money of VA to them in hand paid by the said William Burton the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge themselves fully satisfied have granted, bargained and by these present doth bargain, grant unto the said William Burton, his heirs or assigns one tract or parcel of land containing sixty eight acres bounded as follows: Beginning at a comer in the Green swamp on Mrs. Armistead's line thence bya straight line a Southeasst course along her line to the aforesaid William Burton line and one hundred and seventy poles to a comer tree on the road thence along the road a north course as the road goes, two hundred and two poles thence to the comers on Mrs. Armistead's line thence a Southwest course on her line and one hundred sixty seven poles to the comer gum tree. Begun and lying and being in the Parish of Westover in the county of Charles City lying on the west side of the road from Cowles Ferry to Sandy Point which said tract or parcel of land in part of the land the aforesaid Thomas Batts Lacy and Anthony his wife by Francis Dancy, the aforesaid Anthony's father-in-law with the appurtenances and all right, title, interest, claim and demand of them. Thomas Batts Lacy and Anthony his wife in and to the same and all houses, orchards, woodsway, waters or water courses and the reversion and therefrom remainder and remainders therefrom and all emolluments profits and advantages to the same belonging or any way appertaining thereto to have and hold.

RSW NOTE: The above deed shows Anthony, wife of Thomas Batts Lacy, to have a father-in-law named Francis Dancy. This should probably be interpreted to mean that Francis Dancy was the step-father of Anthony.

Wife Ann, plantation whereon Thomas Botts Lacy lives; children infants; son Ithamer; daughters Margaret, Lucinda, Elizabeth, Ann. Dated 15th April, 1794 (no probate certificate).
