When Lillian Bertha LaChance was born in 1919 in Turton, South Dakota, USA, her father, Fred LaChance, was 32, and her mother, Ella Rahm, was 24. She was certified as a rural school teacher and taught serveral years. She married Harvey J Jibbens on 19 September 1941. She continued to teach and gain the coursework needed for a full license in South Dakota. They had five children in 16 years. She died on 30 July 2018 at the age of 99.
