Biography
Birth and Baptism
Susan, daughter of George Knotts & Mary Knotts, was baptised on 15 May 1842 in St Mary, Staines, Surrey, England.[1].
Early Years
In the 1851 census Susan (age 8) was one of the six children of George and Mary Knotts in Staines, Middlesex, England.[2].
In the 1861 census Susan (age 18) was the servant of George R Gifford in Littleton, Middlesex, England.[3].
Marriage
Susan (age 26), child of George Knotts, married Charles Virgoe on 13 June 1868 in Broadwater, Sussex, England.[4].
In the 1871 census Susan (age 28) was the wife of Charles Virgo in Broadwater, Sussex, England. Her sister Mary Ann was living or staying with the couple[5].
In the 1881 census Susan (age 38) and Charles were living in St Clement Cot, Heene, Sussex, England.[6].
In the 1891 census Susan (age 48) and Charles were in West Tarring, Sussex, England.[7].
In the 1901 census Susan (age 58) and Charles (a jobbing gardener) were living in Islington, London, England.[8].
Charles died in 1903.
In the 1911 census Susan (age 68), was the widowed servant of Sarah Lumsdale at 25 Teville Road Worthing Sussex, England.[9].
Death
