Baron Johann Ludwig von Knoop was a cotton merchant and entrepreneur from the city-state Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, who became one of the richest entrepreneurs in his time. He was created a Baron by Alexander II of Russia in 1877.
Ludwig was born in 1821 in Bremen. He was the son of merchant Gerhard Knoop and Anna Rebecca Frerichs.
He married Louise Dorothea Heuer/Hoyer.
He was a merchant.
He passed away on 16 Aug 1894 at St. Magnus auf dem Gute Mühlenthal[1] near Bremen.[1]
