William lived with his parents and two siblings in Sharon, Litchfield, Connecticut.

He attained the rank of Sergeant in the Spanish American War.

At the age of 51 he married 34 year old divorcee Anna Black Morey on 24 May 1917 at Manhattan, New York, New York, United States.^[2]

Unlikely they had children.
