Lou Ellen Knicely was born on October 3, 1886 to James Kniceley and Virginia Perkins.[1][2]

The spelling of her last name is based on her Birth Certificate. The Kniceley's have been known to interchange the spelling of their last name: Kniceley vs. Knicely.
