Biography

George was born in 1899. He was the son of William Kistler and Florence Leonard.

Mr. and Mrs. George E. Kistler, Carlisle Star Route, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 2. They were married in 1925 at Hagerstown, Md., and since that time have been residents of nearby Carlisle Springs.

They are the parents of one daughter and one son, Mrs. Dale E. Murphy, Mechanicsburg, R.D. 1, and Edwin, at home.

Kistler and his son operate a garage on Carlisle Star Route.

MIDDLESEX - George E. Kistler, 72, RD3 died this morning at his home.

He was born Aug. 29, 1899 in Perry County. He was the son of William and Florence Leonard Kistler.

Mr. Kistler operated a garage on the Carlisle Springs Road for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Carlisle Fish and Game Association.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Viola Weary Kistler; two sons, Eugene E., Carlisle and Edwin L. Kistler, RD3 Carlisle; one daughter, Mrs. George E. McNew, RD2 Carlisle; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere Street, by the Rev. John F. Cundlach. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday evening at the funeral home.

He passed away in 1971.
