Nathaniel Kirtland was baptized at Sherington, Buckinghamshire, England, November 14, 1613; he was a son of Philip Kirtland. Nathaniel was buried at Lynn, Massachusetts, November 27, 1686.[1]
"Nathaniel...came over with his brother, Philip, on the Hopewell and settled in Lynn. [He was] not named in the division of land in Lynn, [in] 1638; in that year [he] was defendant in a law suit brought by Isaack Disberowe. [He] went to Long Island with his brother Philip, and, Savage says, "staid there some years," marrying Parnell ______ and settling in Southold, L. I. [He] returned to Lynn before 1658, was selectman there 1678, and died there in 1686 (Lewis & Newhall)." [2]
Came over in 1635 at 19 yrs.; in the "Hopewell". Sherington is in Bucks County, England. [3]
Nathaniel and Parnell married by 1644 when their daughter Sarah was born. [4]

On page 5 you see his name and shortly after mentions that he probably returned to Lynn by 1644. Unfortunately, nothing on his wife. Since the only settlers in Long Island, before he and his party came, were Native American, could it be that his wife can't be found because she was Native American?
