KEZIAH KINNE, b. at Preston, CT, 13 Jul 1752 daughter of Joseph Kinne and Sarah Blunt;[1] d. at Richmond, MA, 1 Sep 1829;[2] m. at Preston, 1 Apr 1770,[3] Francis Plummer (1747-1816), b. at Preston, son of David and Mary (Manors) Plummer;[4] Francis d. at Richmond, 10 Aug 1816.[5]
In his will written six November 1815 (probate 3 September 1816), Francis Plummer bequeathed to beloved wife Kezia receives one-third of the real estate during her natural life and all the household furniture including the loom and tacking. Son Edward receives one equal share of the property noting that Edward has received $1,000 of his share of the property be deed of gift. As he has given $500 in household furniture and other items to daughter Betsey Goodrich, he leaves one acre of land to grandson Hiram Plummer Goodrich, the only remaining heir of Betsey. Son Avery Plummer receives one equal share and has received $1,300 of his share. The heirs of Polly Castle receive one equal share and Polly received $500 in household furniture during her lifetime. Son Bradford Plummer receives one equal share and has received $800. Daughter Lucy Randol receives one equal share during her life and after her death, Lucy’s portion reverts to the other heirs. Lucy has received $500 toward her share. Son John Lester Plummer receives one equal share. Edward Plummer was named executor. Distribution was made 7 January 1817. Real estate was valued at $12,464 which included the homestead of 141 acres valued at $4,678.[6]
Keziah and Francis were parents of nine children perhaps all born at Pittsfield.
i EDWARD PLUMMER, b. 1770; d. at Richmond, MA, 1837; m. at Richmond, 28 Feb 1796, ESTHER RAYMOND, b. about 1775 daughter of Joseph and Mercy (Chamberlain) Raymond; Esther d. at Richmond, 9 Sep 1837.
ii BETSEY PLUMMER, b. 20 Sep 1772; d. at Richmond, 10 Aug 1806; m. at Richmond, 18 Jun 1797, BENJAMIN GOODRICH, b. 27 May 1769 son of Benjamin and Mary (Douglas) Goodrich;[7] Benjamin d. at Richmond, 20 Dec 1813. Benjamin married second Eunice Raymond.
iii SALLY PLUMMER, b. about 1775; d. at Richmond, 12 Sep 1812.
iv AVERY PLUMMER, b. estimate 1776; d. after 1829 when he was living in Richmond. Avery seems to have two marriages, first to REBECCA who died at Pittsfield 16 May 1815 and second to MARY (last name given as Ayers on the death record of one of the children). Avery and Rebecca were parents of three children and Avery and Mary were parents of four children born at Pittsfield.
v POLLY PLUMMER, b. about 1778; d. at Richmond, 5 Nov 1814; m. at Richmond, 19 Jan 1804, EBENEZER CASTLE, Jr., b. 1776 son of Ebenezer and Eunice (Northrup) Castle; Ebenezer d. at Richmond, 14 Oct 1813.
vi BRADFORD PLUMMER, b. estimate 1779; d. between 1815 when father wrote his will and the 1817 estate distribution.
vii LUCY PLUMMER, b. about 1780; d. at Pittsfield, 21 Nov 1815; m. about 1806, GERSHOM RANDALL, likely b. about 1785 son of Gershom and Judith (Kinne) Randall.[8] Lucy and Gershom had one son, Newcomb Randall who was born in Pittsfield in 1807.
viii Child, b. 1786; d. at Pittsfield, 13 Jan 1788.
ix JOHN LESTER PLUMMER, b. 1793; d. at Clay, NY, 2 May 1846; m. JERUSHA D. STANTON, b. 26 Sep 1793 daughter of Oliver and Hannah (Dewey) Stanton; Jerusha d. at Clay, 12 Mar 1873.
