We have recently taken the Keeling name as a ONS focusing initially on Staffordshire Keelings'. We have Mary Blanshard Keeling's line sourced back to the 1600's and have connected several other Keeling lines in Staffs, Derbyshire, Shropshire and London areas. This is very much in its early stages atm.

Hi KK,

Thanks for creating pre-1700 profile Edward Keeling (-bef.1663).

You cited Visitation of Staffordshire, can you please provide more information? Is this a book? Is it available online? Is there a page number you can refer to? Can you quote the relevant portion you are relying upon? Source material should be sufficient for a fellow researcher to easily follow in your footsteps without duplicating work you have already performed, hence the need to provide full source information.

Thanks.

Hello,

I left a message on the following profile(s) a while ago on behalf of the data doctors project. Please have you had a chance to review this?

Thanks, David

This is your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro! If not, you can always revisit the tour stops via the comment boxes on the right side of your profile.

This tour has covered a lot of ground so far. Our last stop gives you a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

Have questions? We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

You may have been hard at work getting connected to family members who are already here and adding those who were missing. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now.

There's a fast and easy way to access those profiles using the Watchlist. So, this week we're going to look at How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Please let one of us know if you have questions! Just click my name above the comment, then ask in the comment section of my page. We want to help!

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on the bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try sometime!

You've been here for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.

You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

As always, your questions are welcome!

It's time for your next stop on your guided tour. This week, we'd like to introduce you to our community and show you some ways to get more involved and stay up to date on everything that's going on: How to Join in the Community.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Make the Most of a Profile.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Just to add to Dorothy's comment, there is indeed a one-name study for the Kinman surname. If I can be of any help to you please just let me know.

PS: You may want to edit your tag(s) to show any other surnames, locations or historical events that you're researching. Once you save your tags, you'll be able to click them and see a list of other WikiTree genealogists who are also researching those subjects. You can read more about them on our Tags help page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags!

Hi there!

I see that you recently did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 69 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Dorothy, Volunteer Coordinator.

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: where do you start your offline research?

Welcome!

Shirley
