Unfortunately I don’t believe we can be related. My mother married a Brain Kingman (UK) and divorced before I was born, however she decided to just retain the surname and Kingman is my birth name, not my current surname. He isn’t my biological father.
I actually just signed up as I am researching my own line (Norsworthy) after my mum passed in September. I was searching for someone else when I found my grandfather’s information here that was incorrect and missing a lot of details so, I just signed up to correct it.
Best of luck on your quest to research your tree, sorry I cannot be of further help.
My condolences for your loss; it was challenging for me when I lost my mother last May.
You just created your profile as a Guest. This page explains the levels: Membership information. To add your family, you can upgrade, and that page tells you what you can do at each level. As a Guest, you can add your profile only and leave comments, but you cannot edit or create other profiles.
These tips might help you get started:
At the top of this page, you see SURNAME entered. Click the magnifying glass, and you get a list of all SURNAME profiles on WikITree, and you can sort alphabetically or by birth or death dates to see if family members are already on WikiTree. You can repeat this for each surname you are researching or add a first name to see all the profiles on WikITree.
You could download a gedcom from a site or program you have entered your family and upload it to WikiTree for the GEDCOMpare process. This page lists gedcom links for more information: Gedcom Topics.
You might want to set up a free account on FamilySearch.org and research to see if your ancestor is there. The FamilySearch records are outstanding and sometimes attached to the person on their FamilySearch profile, which can list parents, spouses, and children to help you get started.
I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
Welcome to WikiTree!
My name is John Kingman and was just curious if we might be related somehow. You can see my WikiTree profile here.
Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
