Henry was born in 1871 in the Germany Hill section of Tioga Center, Tioga, New York.[1] [2]
He died from pneumonia 1 May 1916.[3]
Daughter Christine King had the following recollection about his death and funeral, when she was four years old: "Now is the time to tell a little more about our family. We were a family of 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls. When I was about 4 years of age, my father, still in his late thirties, died of pneumonia. Floyd, the oldest was about 16, Leo 14, Mildred 12, Pauline 11, Ethel about 9, Clarence about 6, Christine 4 and Esther 9 months. I do not remember my father very much, only the day of the funeral. A big black wagon with 2 seats drove up to the porch and my mother and older kids rode away. A neighbor lady stayed at the house, She was a stranger to me, so I went into the pantry and hid behind the door. She tried to get me to come out, but I sat there until my family came home. At that time Floyd was sick in bed with pneumonia."
