Obituary: Robert William King, Jr., better known as “Wimpy King” age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home.
Mr. King was born on May 26, 1927 in Grayson County, Virginia to Robert William and Laura Todd King. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Pennington King and a son Steve (Peco) King.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Cecilia King; Gary and Kim King; Tony and Sue King; grandchildren and spouse Terri King, Richie King , Bobby and Amber King; Nathan King; three great-grandchildren Ty King, Austin King and Hailee King; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Savannah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brandon Berg and Verl Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
