Hi Georgette and welcome to WikiTree! I'm so glad you'll be adding your family profiles so we can help you grow your tree. This help page has a few hints and tips to get you started on WikiTree: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage_Project:_Welcome_to_WikiTree Emma
Thanks Emma - I actually have quite a lot of documentation about my ancestors, so I don’t need help researching their lives. My only reason for uploading basic tree info here is to see if this project can help identify clues about specific enslavers. My goal is to learn more about my ancestors’ transitions from bondage to emancipation. My hope, therefore, is to find more slave owner records that are linked to specific geographic areas. As I continue in my search to find enslavement records that are not related to my family, I also wanted a place to document that information so other Black families might have an easier time finding answers to their questions.

thank you so much for making information available to others. This is a big key to the success to connecting families. The US Black Heritage Project adds new information every day based on slavery documents. Let us know if there's a specific area you need help looking at. You can post a message on g2g (found under the help tab) and tag it black_heritage for a fast response from one our project members. Emma
Hi Georgette! We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
