Elizabeth was first tried and convicted of Larceny at Surrey in 1839, for this she was sentenced 6 months imprisonment. In 1840, at the Surrey Quarter Session, she was sentenced on the 6th of July to 7 years transportation. She sailed aboard the Navarino in 1841. She was assigned Police Number 144 and sent to work for W Cahill, Spring Hill.

She married John Burles, a fellow convict, in 1846 and the couple had 10 children. She passed away on 19 April 1876 at the General Hospital, Hobart, Tasmania.

It took 107 days. She was assigned to Mr Cahill of Spring Hill. She spent time in the Cascades Female Factory where she had a child, Maria.
