Raymond was born about 1896 to Arthur King and Georgie Chidester in Western, Nebraska.

During WWI, Raymond served in the Navy.

By 1920, he was in Los Angeles.

In 1920, Raymond married Violet (Sylva) O'Mera in Los Angeles. They had at least one child born about 1926 in Wyoming.
