Biography
Alice Rose (or Ross) King was born in 1882 at Benalla, Victoria, Australia. She was the second daughter of John King and Selina Newman. [1] The family moved to Western Australia, however, following the drowning deaths of her father and two brothers, Alice and her mother returned to Victoria. There, Alice attended Presbyterian Ladies' College, Melbourne.
