Fletcher was born June 28, 1873.

Married Mary French daughter of J.F. French at Alton Missouri on November 29, 1893. They had 13 children: Charley 1895-1898, William Edward 1896-1978, James Henry 1901-1971, Alvin 1905-1907, Nancy Elizabeth 1898-1982, Virgil 1903-19714, John Wesley (Wes) 1910-1988, Ollie Lee 1912-1998, Jocie Eliza 1915-2004, Ruth Malinda 1917-1948, Edna Ollie 1908-1993 and Alice Lucille 1921-1977.
