Biography
John King was born about 1805 according to the age given on his death . He married Sarah Barnett in Heckington, Lincolnshire on the 23rd December 1834 [1]. The couple had two children, Samuel baptised 10 May 1835[2] and William 7 October 1838[3]. On both occasions John King’s occupation was given as brickmaker. John died and was buried in Heckington on the 5 May 1839. His age was given as 31 in the records of the General Registry Office and 35 in the parish registers of Heckington. [4] [5]. Sarah followed a year later and was buried 1 May 1840
In 1835 and in 1840 the couple’s residence was given as Heckington Fen, Heckington, a loosely connected hamlet of houses lying in Fenland to the east of the town proper.
