Biography
Hopestill King, the eldest son of Ebenezer King and Sarah Hathaway, was born on 15 Feb 1735/6 in Rochester, Plymouth, Massachusetts, [1] and was named after a younger brother of his father Ebenezer.
After the death of Ebenezer King, Stephen West of Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts was chosen to be the guardian of Hopestill King on 05 May 1755, in a document signed by Hopestill King in which he cited the will and last testament of his honored father Ebenezer King, [2] and was named as guardian the next day. [3]

Hopestill King married Thankful Sacket; daughter of Samuel Sacket and Ruth Trumbull, in about 1763, and from 1764-1779 Hopestill and Thankful had 4 sons and 2 daughters; including a son named Samuel and a daughter named Ruth, in New Marlborough, Berkshire, Massachusetts, [4] where Hopestill King was a household head in the 1790 US Census [5] and died soon afterward in 1791.
