He married Bethiah Havens, daughter of Walter Havens of Shelter Island, who died in 1858.[3]
He married prior to 25 July 1860 an Abigail, who is listed in the 1860 & 1865 census documents, which also list a son Walter, and he is listed as Walter H Benjamin in the 1865 census. Abigail was the widow of Phineas Benjamin.[4] and likely an Overton.[5]
In 1860 Nathan lived in the Flanders section of Southampton, New York. [6]

Nathan died on 15 Oct 1869. He is buried in Flanders Cemetery in Flanders, New York.[7]
