Alexander was born in 1839. [1]
He is the son of John King and Isabella Macanash.
In 1841 Alexander was living at East Street, Doune, Kilmadock with his parents and sister. The family employed two servants. [2]
In 1851 Alexander was living at 49 Main Street, Doune, Kilmadock with his parents and siblings. He was a scholar. The family employed two servants. [3]
In 1871 Alexander was living at Sandyford Street, 5 Derby Terrace, Glasgow with his wife, brother and two house servants. He was an oil merchant. [4]
In 1891 Alexander was living at Victoria Ashtower, Inverkip with his wife, seven children, his nephew and his father-in-law. He was an annuitant. [5]
The nephew living with the family in 1891 was Henry McCumber King, born 1883 in Ballino, Ireland. In 1891 he was a scholar.
