Johannes "John" Keyser was born May 23, 1730, in Germantown, Philadelphia county, Pennsylvania, a son of Dirk Keyser and Alitje De Neuss. Following the American Revolutionary War, John paid supply tax, in the years 1779, 1780, 1782 and 1783, in support of clearing the debts of the Continental Congress.[1] John is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as Ancestor #A065457. Application for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of the children of John and Elisabeth: Charles Keyser, who married Kathryn Rees; Jacob Keyser, who married Susanna Smith; and Mary Keyser, who married William Heisler.[3]
