Eddy Lester Kesler (1944 - 2003)

In 1976 my father Hal Morehead received a letter from Lena Mae Glass Hindman who had been a childhood friend of his mother telling him he had a half brother. She told him my grandmother had sworn her to secrecy. My grandmother and Lena were childhood friends. Lena and her husband had been unable to have children and my grandmother and grandfather were separated long before she became pregnant with Eddy. Lena Mae and Earl Lester Hindman adopted Eddy at birth. Lena and Earl divorced then Lena married Cecil Leonard Kessler. Cecil then adopted Eddy. This is why Eddy had the middle name Lester and the surname Kessler.

We met Ed and spent a summer vacation with him in New Mexico 1977. He told us after having worked Law enforcement in Florida he had worked as security at a casino in Las Vegas. He had known growing up that Hal Morehead was his half brother but Hal did not know. Eddy also knew that Hals half sister on his fathers side was Barbara Eden. She performed at the Casino where he worked and he met her while providing security for her and her crew. He never let her know they shared a half brother.
