Rene was born in 1890. She is the daughter of Arthur Kesler and Harriet Taylor. She emigrated to Canada in 1900 and in 1901 was living with her parents and siblings in Alberta. [1] By 1906, there were 2 more siblings. [2] In 1911, she was called Verena and lived on her parents' farm in the Medicine Hat district. [3]
