• Birth Certificates for 10 children between Edward 1861 and Thomas 1886. Honora had 2 additional children Bridget circa 1874 and Hanora circa 1876. These two are listed on birth registrations for Susan & John 1883 and finally Thomas in 1886 plus Honora's husband Michael's 1890 Death Registration and then Honora's own death registration in 1930.

• Death Certificate No 3811/1930 Births/Deaths/Marriages Registry Victoria, Australia. Honora's name is spelt Hanorah on this DC. She died on 24 April 1930 aged 87 according to this DC. However, she was probably a little older around 89/90. As with other family registrations in Victoria, starting initially in 1861 there is ongoing consistency. This consistency is maintained over a 70 year period until Honora's death in 1870. So one or more members of this immigrant family in which the two parents were illiterate had access to accurate information or perhaps it had been maintained in some written form.

On this DC it is stated that Honora was born in County Clare Ireland and she had married Michael Canny at age 19 in Ireland. It is stated that she had been 70 years in Victoria which is consistent with all other records.

This list is accurate in the sense that that there were with a very high degree of probability 12 children. The list is in what seems to be correct order, with one exception the first John who died as an infant in 1873. Bridget and Norah are somewhat of mysteries. Susan and the 2nd John were registered as twins but it is very possible that they were not. The information in brackets has been entered by me and the dates given are those given on the Victorian B/D/M Registry.

Honora Canny(Kenny)'s PARENTS are listed on her Death Certificate. They are MICHAEL KENNY, Farmer & MARGARET QUINN.

Unfortunately, the Death Certificate was the first time that names of parents would have been asked for and this is about 70 years after Honora arrived in Victoria as a young, married woman of about 20. Nevertheless because I have generally found all of the existing Victorian registrations for the Cannys to be generally consistent and accurate I think it highly likely that these are the correct names of Honora's parents.
