Daughters of the American Revolution
Jacob Kenney is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A208474.

Jacob Kenney was born on 9 Sep 1741 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1775, Jacob served as a Minuteman in Capt. Daniel Egery’s 2nd Bristol Co. militia regiment, responding to the alarm coming from Lexington on April 19th. They would march, most likely, to the gathering of militia troops at the siege of Boston.

Jacob married Pernall Hammond in 1777, and they would have at least 4 sons together. Pernall died in 1815. Jacob remarried to Thankful Ellis in 1817. His exact date of death isn’t yet known, but must have been in the first months of 1829. His Will, dated 9 Apr 1825 and proved on 5 May 1829, names his second wife Thankful (Ellis) and his four sons.

Last name has been seen as both Kinney, Kenney, and Kenny. Listed as Kenny in the

“Kenny, Jacob, Dartmouth. Private, Capt. Daniel Egery's co. of Minute-men, which marched April 21, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775; service, 5 days.”
