George was born in 1791.
Mr. Geo. Kay was a volunteer in the War of 1812 and served in Capt. Robinson's company of Pennsylvania Militia. For his services, he was granted a pension, which he enjoyed while he lived, and his widow, after him, to the day of her death. They were ardent Methodists, and excellent people. . . . "

George was born in Washington County, Maryland. In 1801 (George would have been approximately 10 years of age) he moved with his parents to Franklin County, Pennsylvania. George later relocated to Platte City, Missouri.
The U.S. Census records reveal the George Kay family resided in Lee Township, Platte County, Missouri in 1850 and Platte City, Carroll Township, Platte County, Missouri in 1860. (Key and Allied Families, Mrs. Julian C. Lane, 1931, Page 78)
He passed away in 1866.
