Biography
Donald was born on 17 April 1939 in the Town of Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York. He was the youngest child of Andrew Kannus and Mary Ketola Kannus. Don lived at 2183 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY, throughout his childhood. All his grandparents immigrated to the United States from Finland around the turn of 20th Century, and he was very proud of his Finnish heritage.
Don married Carol Wood on 28 January 1959 in Homer, Cortland County, NY. [1] Between 1960 and 1964 they had three children, and the family made their home at 2169 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY, for 20 years.
Don passed away at almost 76 years of age on 2 February 2015 in Cortland, New York. He is buried alongside his wife in the McLean Cemetery in McLean, Tompkins County, NY. [2]
