PARENTS
Note: maiden name JONES appears to have originated from the Winstead book (written 1994, by Martha Winstead). The book says her parents are Johnson Jones and Elizabeth Brown, but provides no source or explanation.
(Need to locate Johnson Jones' Will, or Estate, or other document that shows some kind of connection to Samuel and Elizabeth Winstead).
There is no evidence that Elizabeth's mother remarried to TRIPLETT
BIRTH / DEATH
Birth Date: estimated about 1729, based on the following:
1) on/after 1723, assuming same age or younger than husband
2) on/before 1735, assuming age 15+ when child Cottance born
3) about 1729, assuming average 21 when child Cottance born
4) possible birth 23 Jun 1720, per undocumented source
Birth Place: probably Virginia, but no basis for assumption
(need verification of parents, siblings, etc, for a basis of assumption)
Death about 1812/1813, Person Co. NC, based on the following:
1) Inventory of Elizabeth's Estate in Feb-1813.
2) Inventoried by her son Charles B Winstead; returned & recorded May-1813.
3) assume Elizabeth died several weeks or months BEFORE the Inventory.
She did NOT die on 15 Feb 1813. That is when her estate was inventoried.

Note: Notice that most of the slave names in Elizabeth's Estate, match the 1816 estate document of her husband, that names the 7 heirs of Samuel Winstead III. (Reference husband's profile.)
CHILDREN
Seven children are named in husband Samuel's 1805 Will.
Seven children (including 2 deceased) are named in 1816 division of slaves.
The married names of daughters are included.
Assume children in the Will are listed in order of birth.
Most genealogies include 2 more children; Samuel (b.1748), and William (b.1750). However, their lack of presence in Samuel's Will and division of slaves, indicate otherwise. This is especially true since they appear to be living in close proximity to Samuel III's family.
(More research is required).
Children of Samuel III, listed in St Stephen's Register are Alice & Charles.
