Hi Chris, I may be related the the Cranston side. My mother lived in Wanganui for many years and I recall her saying that there were distant Cranston cousins in that area. I remember her talking about Ohakune, Raetihi and Fordell. I’d be interested to know where the Fordell ones descend from. I’m also connected to Hewitt’s on my father’s side. Dad’s half sister married Bob Hewitt in the 1930s and they were dairy farmers in the Te Aroha area. Regards

Hello Rhys,

I have only just started looking at my family history through Wikitree and when entering my paternal grandmother's details your link to Beatrice Adelaide Moffat born 10 December 1881 at Canterbury, New Zealand has come up. I also have a copy of the same photo of Beatrice taken with her parents and siblings on her wedding day, 25 October 1905. I am interested to know what your family relationship is to Beatrice.

My husband is Anthony Bettridge, son of Cyril Bettridge and nephew of Peter, Malcolm, Thomas, Brian, William, Sid, Julie, Ellen, Irene and Heather.

I have been trying to track his tree and have not had a lot of luck with the Bettridge line.
