Childhood

Lucy (Jones) Holdsworth was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Lucy Jones was born in Sydney, NSW in 1836.^[1] Lucy Jones was baptised at St Phillip's, Sydney on 29 January 1837, the daughter of Harriet Hatfield and Samuel Jones.^[2] Lucy was the fourth of their thirteen children. Her mother also had a son in a previous relationship.

Married Life

Lucy Jones, daughter of Harriet Hatfield and Samuel Jones, married Harvey Wilson Holdsworth, son of Elizabeth Burdekin and John Holdsworth, in Sydney on 19 October 1872.^[3][4] Their children included

1. Lucie Gertrude (Holdsworth) Dalgarno (1874-1946)
2. Harry Holdsworth (1876-1946)^[5][6]
3. Hilda Marion (Holdsworth) Inglis (1881-1952).^{[7][8][9][10]}

Widowhood

Lucy's husband Harry Holdsworth, a wholesale ironmonger, passed away in Sydney in 1891. In December 1891, Lucy gave notice of her intention to apply for administration of his estate.^[11]

Lucy (Jones) Holdsworth passed away at her residence in Coogee on 26 March 1916.^{[12][13][14][8]} A widow, she was survived by
